1、 Product Introduction:
Biochemical oxygen demand BOD5 is a necessary measurement item for water quality evaluation and an important quality indicator for measuring the impact of organic matter on water pollution. The traditional method for determining BOD5 is chemical dilution. This method is cumbersome to operate, requires high experimental skills from analysts, and has a high degree of variability in experimental data, often resulting in inaccurate experimental results.
The TC-870 direct reading BOD5 analyzer is a new type of instrument that uses the air pressure difference method to measure biochemical oxygen demand. It is easy to operate, can provide accurate measurement results comparable to chemical dilution methods, has intuitive readings, and is easy to use and maintain. Guang Fan is a powerful tool for environmental monitoring, petrochemical, medical and health, teaching and research departments to monitor water quality, and is widely used by analysts.
Inject the water sample or pre treated water sample into a culture bottle, and place a carbon dioxide absorbent (NaOH) in the absorption cup at the bottle mouth. Then seal the culture bottle and place it in a biochemical incubator with a capacity of 150L and a power socket. After the tested sample is incubated at a constant temperature of 20 ± 1 ℃ for five days, the water sample in the bottle undergoes biological oxidation reaction at a certain stirring speed. Organic matter is converted into oxides of nitrogen, carbon, and sulfur, and produces carbon dioxide gas that is absorbed by sodium hydroxide. The oxygen in the upper space of the culture bottle continuously supplies the oxygen demand of microorganisms in the water sample, creating a pressure difference inside the culture bottle. By detecting the height of mercury in the glass tube, the BOD value of the water sample during the specified measurement period can be calculated.
